Mediation Days

Mr. Van Til was one of the pioneers of the “mediation day” concept 25 year ago. The simple goal was and is to make a process to help early resolution of injury claims that is as efficient and economical as possible.

The mediation day hearings are non- binding, informal, and usually one hour in length held at an insurance company’s office or at the mediator’s office. Cases with multiple parties or more complex issues may be set for two or more hours at the party’s request.

Mr. Van Til’s experience with “mediation day” cases is that 90%+ get resolve at the hearing or shortly thereafter primarily because both sides come prepared to make an effort and appreciate the fact that if the case is not settled at that point there will be a considerable amount of additional expense incurred by both sides by proceeding further.
